Our hosting backbone runs on a distributed network of Plesk-based virtual machines deployed across multiple UK and EU datacentres.
Each environment is designed for modular scalability, allowing AIM to deploy, isolate, or restore services at the VM level within minutes.

• Encrypted daily snapshots stored off-site
• DNS-level traffic management for failover routing

🧩 2. Automated Backup & Mirror Replication

Every active server instance maintains a synchronized Backup Mirror VM.
This mirror continuously replicates configuration files, databases, and client data to a secondary environment.

• Encrypted off-site backups (AES-256)
• Hourly incremental sync
• Snapshot validation before failover
• Independent access controls for each VM

🔄 3. Failover Activation Process

When a failure is detected, AIM’s automated failover sequence instantly redirects services to the Backup Mirror VM.

Process Steps:

1. Incident Detection: System flags outage or performance degradation.
2. Containment: Primary VM isolated for security verification.
3. Activation: Backup Mirror VM promoted to live status.
4. DNS Update: Traffic routed to new active environment.
5. Verification: Automated checks confirm service integrity.

Target performance:

• RTO (Recovery Time Objective): ≤ 60 minutes
• RPO (Recovery Point Objective): ≤ 24 hours

🔁 4. Continuous Recovery & Reprotection

Once the failed primary VM is restored, the system re-establishes replication in the opposite direction — maintaining a continuous recovery cycle.

• Restoration testing before reintegration
• Failback automation
• Revalidation of encryption and snapshot schedules
